Heritage Investors and its founders were included as Southeastern Financial Leaders in the December 2014 issue of Forbes Magazine. Justin A. Goodbread, who became a young entrepreneur as owner of a landscape nursery and installation company, recently sat down with the magazine best known for its lists and rankings to discuss Heritage Investors LLC. Goodbread and the firm’s co-owner Jim L. De Tar founded the independent financial company in 2009 after several discussions about the kind of wealth management business they wanted to create.
We wanted to build a referral-based firm,” said Goodbread. “We wanted to have more of an intimate relationship with our clients, where we’re friends on social media, where we meet with clients three, four, five times a year, not just the once-a-year conference.”
Marshall Leeds, President and CEO of Summit Brokerage, said, “Goodbread and his firm are certainly great at establishing friendships with clients and immersing themselves in the process of building and managing their clients’ investment portfolios.” Leeds continued, “We are certainly excited to see the success of Heritage Investors and the clients it serves.”
Goodbread tells Forbes that most of his relationship-building time spent with clients includes hunting, fishing, playing golf or engaging in other activities. He says, “It’s a little different, but we’ve built the business that way.”
